What we arrange

We choose and check the provider and book the slots for your date. You deal only with us and get the provider’s details after you confirm.

Helicopter flights

For most groups this is the main event. We book only operators whose ANAC certificate for panoramic flights (RBAC 136) is valid on your flight date, in aircraft that carry the “VOO PANORÂMICO” marking required by RBAC 45, and we look up each aircraft in RAB Online. Hang gliding and paragliding from Pedra Bonita

• Take-off is from Pedra Bonita in Tijuca National Park, which has two ramps at 517 meters: a metal and wood one for hang gliders and a natural one for paragliders. ICMBio calls it the most used free-flight ramp in Brazil.
• The landing is on Praia do Pepino in São Conrado. Visit Rio puts the flight at about 10-20 minutes.
• Under ICMBio rules for federal parks (IN 7/2023), a tandem instruction flight needs ICMBio authorization, the pilot must hold an instructor rating and carry proof of aviation insurance, and the passenger needs no licence. The park’s website points beginners to instructors accredited by ABVL, the Brazilian free flight association.

We ask for the rating, the insurance and the park authorization before we book. Wind decides whether anyone flies, and the instructor makes that call on the ramp.

Tandem skydiving

• In Rio, Visit Rio lists tandem jumps that take off from Jacarepaguá Airport, climb to 10,000 feet in about 20 minutes and land on the beach at Barra da Tijuca.
• Boituva, 116 km from the city of São Paulo, has called itself the parachuting capital under a municipal law since 2003, and the CBPq, Brazil’s parachuting confederation, has its address there.
• Under ANAC’s RBAC 105, the jump pilot must meet ANAC’s requirements and the aircraft must be in good standing with ANAC.
• Under the CBPq sports code, a tandem pilot needs Category D, at least three years in the sport, a medical certificate and a tandem course. The minimum age for a tandem jump is 12, with consent from both parents or legal guardians.

Weight limits and health restrictions depend on the drop zone, so we confirm them for each person before booking.

Sport-plane flights, aerobatics and a turn at the controls

A flight sold for money must be flown by an operator that ANAC has authorized for that service, in an aircraft certified for it. Otherwise it is clandestine air taxi service, known in Brazil as TACA. So we book only two formats:

1. An instruction flight at a flight school or aero club certified by ANAC as a civil aviation training centre (RBAC 141). The aircraft has two pilot stations, and your guest sits at the controls next to the instructor.
2. A panoramic flight with a company that holds an ANAC operator certificate for panoramic flights (RBAC 136). It takes off and lands at the same point and flies only in visual weather conditions.

Under RBAC 91, aerobatics are allowed only in aircraft with a standard airworthiness certificate and within their design limits. Everyone on board must be told the risks and give express consent, and every occupant wears a parachute for manoeuvres beyond 60 degrees of bank or 30 degrees of pitch. If no provider can fly aerobatics legally on your dates, we tell you. We look up each aircraft in ANAC’s public register, RAB Online, which shows the operator, airworthiness status and certificate validity.

Jet ski with an instructor

• To drive a jet ski in Brazil you need a Navy licence in the Motonauta category (NORMAM-212), and rental businesses must check it. The licence takes three hours of practical training at a registered nautical school and a written exam.
• Without a licence, a guest rides as a passenger behind a licensed instructor, never in front of the driver.
• Everyone wears a Navy-approved life jacket, and the driver wears the safety key on a cord, which stops or slows the engine if the cord is pulled.

You can add a jet ski ride to a day on a yacht.

How we check providers

We book only providers that work legally: the organization holds the permits and registrations its activity requires, the instructor or pilot has a current rating, and the aircraft or craft has its papers. We run this check before every booking.

• Helicopter flights: the operator’s ANAC certificate for panoramic flights (RBAC 136), valid on your date, the VOO PANORÂMICO marking (RBAC 45) and the aircraft’s record in RAB Online.
• Hang gliding and paragliding: the ICMBio authorization, the instructor rating and proof of aviation insurance. The park points beginners to instructors accredited by ABVL.
• Tandem skydiving: the tandem pilot’s CBPq rating and, under ANAC’s RBAC 105, a jump pilot and aircraft in good standing.
• Sport-plane flights: a flight school or aero club certified by ANAC (RBAC 141) or a panoramic operator (RBAC 136), and the aircraft’s record in RAB Online.
• Jet ski: the Navy Motonauta licence of whoever drives, and Navy-approved life jackets for everyone on board.

Planning for a group

• Keep a backup day in the program, because wind and weather decide for every activity on this page.
• Tandem flights and jumps take one guest per instructor, and a helicopter carries only a few passengers, so we split the group into slots and send a timetable with names.
• We collect each person’s weight, age and health limits in advance.
• Transport between the hotel, São Conrado, the airfield, the heliport and the marina is part of the plan: see group transfers. An activity can also be one block of an incentive trip.

What the price depends on

We do not publish prices. The price in the proposal depends on the activities, the number of people and of instructors or aircraft, flight or ride time, the date and time of day, photos or video if you want them, transport, the backup day and, for Boituva, the trip to São Paulo state. Our fee is already included in the price.

Cancellation, weather and terms

• Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the activity; after that, the deposit is not refunded.
• If the weather does not allow the activity, we move it to another slot or day or refund the deposit in full.
• If the provider or we cannot deliver, we find a replacement or refund the deposit in full.

Group bookings start from about 10 people. Groups of 50 and more are handled together with a large local receptive partner, and you keep one contact on our team.
