Honeymoon in Rio de Janeiro and Brazil

A honeymoon in Rio de Janeiro works best as five days in the city with a sunset boat and a helicopter flight, or as Rio plus a few nights in Búzios, Ilha Grande, Paraty or at the Iguazu Falls. We book the transfers, a private guide, the boat, the flight and a photographer, help with hotels and stay your single contact for the whole trip. Price on request, proposal within 24 hours.

Who a honeymoon in Rio suits

Rio suits couples who want a city and a beach in one trip: mornings on the viewpoints, afternoons on the sand, sunset on the water. It also suits couples who married somewhere else and want a quiet, private week afterwards, or who are coming back for an anniversary. If you plan the wedding itself in Rio, see destination wedding in Rio; if the trip starts with a question, see marriage proposals in Rio.

Everything is private: your car, your guide, your boat. You deal only with us, and you get each provider’s details after you confirm.

Four sample honeymoon plans

These are starting points. We change the order, the pace and the hotels to fit you.

Rio, 5 days: yacht at sunset and a helicopter flight

  • Day 1: arrival, private transfer to your hotel, an easy evening by the beach.
  • Day 2: a private city tour with a guide who speaks your language, Sugarloaf or Christ the Redeemer at the quietest time we can find for your date.
  • Day 3: a slow beach day, then a private yacht at sunset on Guanabara Bay or along Copacabana and Ipanema. See yacht charter in Rio.
  • Day 4: a private helicopter flight over the city in the morning, a couple photoshoot in the afternoon.
  • Day 5: dinner with a view, transfer to the airport next day.

Rio and Búzios

Three or four days in Rio, then two or three nights in Búzios, on a peninsula east of the city with many small beaches. You can go straight from Galeão airport: RIOgaleão lists a Galeão to Búzios bus line from Terminal 2, and we can book a private transfer with a meet at arrivals instead. Búzios is also on our list of day trips from Rio, but for a honeymoon we suggest staying the nights.

Rio, Ilha Grande or Paraty

Paraty and Ilha Grande together form a UNESCO World Heritage site, inscribed in 2019, with Paraty’s historic centre and the island’s state park among its parts. Angra dos Reis, the gateway to Ilha Grande, puts itself 155 km from Rio; the last stretch is by boat. Since June 2026 Angra dos Reis charges visitors a sustainable tourism fee, and Ilha Grande is inside its area, so we add it to the plan. Pick one of the two for a trip of under ten days, and stay at least one night.

Rio and the Iguazu Falls

Four or five days in Rio, then a flight to Foz do Iguaçu for two nights. On the Brazilian side the park opens every day, 9:00 to 16:00 on weekdays and 8:30 to 16:00 at weekends; the traditional visit takes about two hours, and you can stay until the park closes at 17:30. For longer routes with more regions, see our 2-week Brazil itinerary.

Romantic moments we can add

  • Sunset at Arpoador. Riotur, the city’s tourism office, calls the Arpoador rocks the most beautiful place to watch the sea and the sunset. Shared with other people, best with a little time to spare.
  • A private boat. A yacht or motorboat with a skipper, with drinks or dinner on board.
  • A helicopter flight. Private, for the two of you. See helicopter flights over Rio.
  • A private photoshoot. A photographer for an hour or two, at the beach, in the old streets or at a viewpoint. See photoshoot in Rio.
  • Dinner with a view. A terrace table at sunset or a private chef. We reconfirm the table the day before.

Best time of year for a honeymoon in Rio de Janeiro

Alerta Rio, the city’s weather service, names June to August as the driest months, August most of all, with May and September in between. It counts November to April as the rainy season, with January the wettest month. Rain in Rio often comes as short showers, but it can cancel a boat or a flight for a few hours, so every plan has a spare day. If you want Carnival or New Year’s Eve in the trip, tell us early: hotel rooms go fast and the deposit for those dates is not refundable after you confirm.

What we organise

  • Private transfers from the airport, between hotels and to Búzios, Angra dos Reis or Paraty.
  • A private guide who speaks your language, by the hour or by the day.
  • Yacht or motorboat with a skipper, helicopter flight, photographer.
  • Help with choosing and booking hotels that fit the plan.
  • Dinner bookings, flowers or a cake on the boat, small surprises.
  • One contact on our team before and during the trip, 8:00 to 20:00 Rio time.

Our fee is already included in the price. Terms and payment are set out in the proposal; you pay nothing before you confirm.

What to tell us in your request

  • Your dates and how flexible they are
  • Rio only, or Rio plus a second destination
  • Your hotel style and budget level
  • Which moments you want: boat, helicopter, photoshoot, dinner
  • Language for the guide
  • Anything to plan around: seasickness, fear of heights, diet
  • Whether it is a surprise for one of you

Cancellation and changes

Tours, transfers, boats and photoshoots can be cancelled at no cost up to 48 hours before; multi-day tours up to 14 days before. You can change the date once at no cost with 48 hours’ notice if the provider has another date. If a provider lets you down, we find a replacement or refund your deposit in full. If the weather or force majeure stops a plan, you get a new date or a full refund of the deposit. For New Year’s Eve and Carnival dates, the deposit is not refundable after you confirm.

Write to us with your dates and your idea; our team answers in English, Spanish or Portuguese.

Frequently asked questions

How many days do we need for a honeymoon in Rio?

Five days in Rio is a comfortable minimum, with one spare day for the weather. If you add Búzios, Ilha Grande, Paraty or Iguazu, plan at least two nights there plus a travel day.

When is the best time for a honeymoon in Rio?

June to August are the driest months according to Alerta Rio, the city's weather service. November to April is the rainy season, with January the wettest month, so we keep a spare day in the plan.

Do you book our hotel?

We help you choose and book it. Tell us your style and budget level, and we suggest options that fit the rest of the plan.

Can we have the yacht or the helicopter just for the two of us?

Yes. Both are private bookings for your party only, and our proposal sets out the route, time and what is on board.

We move it to another day or time. If that is not possible, you get a new date or a full refund of our deposit.
