What a Rio Carnival trip includes

Sambadrome nights

We get the seats you want for the nights you pick: grandstands, numbered chairs, frisas or boxes. Tickets are bought only through official channels, and we confirm availability in the proposal. Details are on Sambadrome tickets. If you want to be in the parade rather than watch it, see parade in Rio Carnival.

Blocos and rehearsals

A guide who speaks your language takes you to street blocos that suit your group, from daytime ones for families to bigger parties. Late January rehearsals are a calmer first look at the schools: see samba school rehearsals.

Hotel and transfers

During carnival many roads close for blocos and around the Sambadrome. We plan airport pickup, hotel transfers and parade night rides around the official traffic plans. Hotel or apartment options are in one proposal with the rest.

Days without carnival

Most travelers add Sugarloaf, Christ the Redeemer, a boat day or a day trip from Rio. We set these on days without parades.

A sample five night plan

  1. Arrival, transfer to the hotel, evening at a bloco near the hotel
  2. City sights with a private guide, rest before the parade, first Sambadrome night
  3. Late start, beach, daytime bloco
  4. Day trip or boat day, second Sambadrome night if you want one
  5. A day at your own pace, then airport transfer or a few more days on the coast

Frequently asked questions

When should I arrive for Rio Carnival 2027?

For the Special Group nights, arrive by Saturday 6 February 2027. If you also want the Série Ouro on 5 and 6 February or the technical rehearsals in late January, arrive earlier.

How many days does a Rio Carnival trip need?

Most travelers plan five to eight nights: one or two Sambadrome nights, a few blocos, the classic sights and a day trip. We fit the plan to your dates.

Is Rio Carnival safe for tourists?

We follow official travel advice: the US State Department rates Brazil Level 2, exercise increased caution (31 August 2026), and Canada advises a high degree of caution (14 October 2026). UK advice suggests keeping belongings close, buying your own drinks and using official ride-hailing apps.

Can I parade in a samba school?

Yes, we can arrange a place in a costume parade. Ask early, because costumes and fittings take time.

What is the cancellation policy?

After you confirm a carnival booking, the deposit is not refundable. If the provider cannot deliver, we arrange a replacement or refund the full deposit.
