Helicopter flights over Rio de Janeiro for groups and private parties

What we arrange

• Sightseeing flights over Rio for groups, incentive trips and travel agency clients, with several aircraft and staggered time slots for a large group.
• Private flights for a marriage proposal or a photo session, with the aircraft for your party only.
• Helicopter transfers from Rio to Angra dos Reis, Paraty and Búzios.

We choose the operator, check it as described below, plan the flights and book them for your date. You deal only with us and receive the operator’s details after you confirm.

What you see from the air

Sugarloaf, Corcovado with the statue of Christ, Guanabara Bay and the Copacabana seafront all belong to the UNESCO World Heritage site “Rio de Janeiro: Carioca Landscapes between the Mountain and the Sea”.

The proposal states the route and the landmarks it passes, the flight time, the departure point and the seats.

How we choose the operator

We book only operators whose ANAC certificate for panoramic flights under RBAC 136 is valid on your flight date. Before booking, we look up each aircraft in ANAC’s public register, RAB Online, and check that it carries the “VOO PANORÂMICO” marking required by RBAC 45.

RAB Online shows the aircraft’s operator, airworthiness status and certificate validity. The RBAC 45 marking is in capital letters 5-15 cm high on the outside of the fuselage, near the main passenger door.

RBAC 136 also sets rules for the flight itself, and we confirm them with the operator:

• The operator’s certificate is on display for the public at its head office and bases.
• The pilot holds a commercial pilot licence.
• The flight goes ahead only with R.E.T.A. insurance contracted and valid for classes I to IV.
• The pilot checks weight and balance before every flight, and everyone on board gets a safety briefing.
• The aircraft takes off and lands at the same point with no stop in between, and flies only in visual weather conditions.

You can check the aircraft yourself: type the registration painted on it into RAB Online on ANAC’s website.

A transfer lands somewhere else, so it is not a panoramic flight. For transfers we book a company certified by ANAC for passenger air transport with helicopters and look up the aircraft in RAB Online, which also shows whether it may fly as an air taxi.

Planning flights for a group

• Each helicopter carries only a few passengers. For a larger group we book several aircraft or staggered slots, so everyone flies within one morning or afternoon.
• We send the operator each passenger’s weight in advance and confirm the luggage allowance in writing, which matters most on transfers.
• A panoramic flight lands where it took off, so the coach waits at the heliport: see group transfers.
• Pair the flight with an afternoon on a yacht, or make it one block of an incentive trip or a group program.
• Keep a second date open in case the weather does not allow flying.

Private flights and transfers

For a marriage proposal or a photo session, we plan the time of day with you and can add a photographer. See also destination weddings in Rio.

A helicopter transfer replaces the drive to Angra dos Reis, Paraty or Búzios, and the proposal confirms the landing site. It can be added to the Rio, Ilha Grande and Paraty or Rio and Búzios programs.

What the price depends on

We do not publish flight prices. The price in the proposal depends on the number of aircraft and their seats, the route and flight time, the departure point, a whole aircraft or seats on a shared flight, the date and time of day and, for transfers, the destination, landing site, waiting time and luggage. Our fee is already included in the price.

Cancellation, weather and terms

• Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the flight; after that, the deposit is not refunded.
• If the weather does not allow the flight, we move it to another slot or refund the deposit in full.
• If the operator or we cannot deliver, we find a replacement or refund the deposit in full.

Group bookings start from about 10 people. Groups of 50 and more are handled together with a large local receptive partner, and you keep one contact on our team.
